I have seen a lot of Toy Photography being made in the past year or so. And seeing successful pictures means that there is some sort of set piece or background in the picture to add to the realism of the setup. So when my son asked me to make him a play-set for his Masters of the Universe toys, I said, "You know, I should show a lot of people how to craft a play-set out of crafting materials.". And so, this video was born.
This is a part one to a two part creation for this set. The second video will be all about painting the creation. I will go over painting techniques and texturing techniques in that video. So...stay tuned!!!
Jeff and I are having an 8th anniversary of our show, Talking Toys with Taylor and Jeff! It has been a great ride. Celebrate the occasion by going through our backlog of shows on MarvinDogMedia!

Post Dallas Comic Con 2013 Awesomeness!
I just want to start off by saying thank you, to everyone that stopped by Jeff's and my table. I would then like to give an even bigger thank you to everyone that got comics, art, and prints from me. Your purchases help me keep the tables for these conventions and keep me making art and comics. This recent Dallas Comic Con has been fantastic! I got a nice action figure and vehicle set from Jeff and a few he-man action figures from Darth Mall Toys which one is the vintage Savage He-Man! I also got a very nice art piece from my nachos fan! I love this piece! I got to see a good friend from my youth, Tim Stuckey, and got to meet his wife. I received a book from Gloria Oliver called, "In the Service of the Samurai" which I can not wait to read. My good buddy, Reese stopped by to visit. She and Taffeta Darling had some awesome Inspector Gadget and Penny cosplay on Friday and she had a stellar Borg queen cosplay outfit on Saturday. I was assimilated...
Jeff got a lot of traffic for Marvin Dog Media. He was recognized for his "Singing Truck Driver" commercial that he did. I have yet to see the whole commercial yet, but what I saw, I could not stop laughing. I'll have to keep my eyes open for when that commercial come on.

I did have a lot of commission work. I probably had more commission work than I had at the last Sci-fi Expo. I was able to try my hand at some very simple anime styled drawings. I think that they turned out pretty good. I made some new sketch cards that I can scan in for future postings. They are all G.I.Joe sketch cards, so I figured I would start a run of those and get to a point of finishing up the Masters of the Universe cards. I had a lot of fun mash-ups. My favorite mash-up was The Blue Ranger Banana. If you know the cartoon that this joke is based on, I applaud you. Below are pictures of the commissions that I did while at the table.
I know that I have already said it, but thank you everyone. I hope to see many of you and many new faces at the Fan Days Convention in October.
I did buy a table for the Dallas Comic Con: Fan Days on October 4th-6th. If you are wanting a pre-Fan Days commission, let me know and I'll get it ready for pick up at that show.
I have posted some new shirt designs in my Cafepress store. Head over to my Cafepress store and get a shirt or a couple!
I have all Xenex the Bug Man comic books available for print on demand. You can see that listing here on my store's tab for comic books.
Just to let you know all know, I am taking commissions. If you would like to commission me for original artwork, head over to the commissions tab in store to see how.
If you have not heard about the Podcast called, "Talking Toys with Taylor and Jeff", then it's time I let you know! Jeff and I are on the show where we talk about toys! (Go figure, I mean Go action figure!) Seems simple enough. We pick out a toy line to discuss in each show. We share our childhood memories, our favorite five, and talk about the one toy in the line that got away. Jeff talks about how he cherished his toys and I talk about how they ended up in the garden! The other two shows are The pilot episode, where Jeff and Josh Taylor break down the Pilot Episode in TV series, and The Loosely Based Podcast where Brynna and Jeff compare the book to the movie adaptation! The shows are great! If you are interested in what we got, go to Marvindogmedia.com and give us a listen. You can subscribe to the shows on itunes and get up to date info on upcoming shows on facebook:

Action Figure (toy) Friday- Dr. Dreadful Zombies Bug Lab!
The other day, I found this little gem on a shelf I was straightening up at work. From the look of the box, I just fell in love! I thought, "My God! How cool would that be if I got that and did a review on it?! I could ask Jeff from the podcast, Talking Toys with Taylor and Jeff to a video review with me on this toy." I always fail to remember that Jeff doesn't like bugs, and this set glorifies itself on the fact that you can make candy versions of creepy crawlies. But, I digress.
The Dr. Dreadful labs toys are made by Umagine which is put out through Spin Master (Spin Master put out the recent Tron Legacy Toys). The toys boast the feature of being able to eat whatever you make in the sets. In other words, this is the naughty food maker to the nice foodmaker, the Easy Bake Oven. Now I only have this one set. There have been other sets that have made me look twice in its direction due to it's looking like absolute coolness! The one set that I would like to add to this is the Organ Grinder. It looks rather impressive. At least the box makes it look impressive.

The long awaited issue 4 of Xenex the Bug Man is now up for order. It's a great looking comic book! Head on over to the Bug Man site and see what I'm talking about!

There's
been an update to the store tabs on both Xenex the Bug Man, and this
site. All of the print on demand issues, cafepress stores and
commissions info will be under the new store tab on both this site and
the Xenex the Bug Man site. Hopefully this page makes shopping a bit
easier. Go and check it out!
Just a quick update: I did go ahead and purchase a table for the Fan
Days Convention in October. So I will be there (given that I don't have
another mishap).
Now, you mighty be asking what this Marvin Dog media is. I've got
answers. I had been working with a good friend of mine, Jeff McGee,
before I got sick on designing logos and banners for a podcast that I am
on and logos and banners of podcasts that other friends are on. I have
listened to all of the shows so far and they are great! Jeff and I are
on the show where we talk about toys! (Go figure, I mean Go action
figure!) That show is called Talking toys with Taylor and Jeff. The
other two shows are The pilot episode, where Jeff and Josh Taylor break
down the Pilot Episode in TV series, and The Loosely Based Podcast where
Brynna and Jeff compare the book to the movie adaptation! Again, the
shows are great! If you are interested in what we got, go to Marvindogmedia.com
