Painting of the Day- Picnic on Dantooine!

Not too long ago, I was approached to make a couple of art pieces for a new program called, "The Artmor Project". This is a new program created by the guys over at NeoZaz.com. The program is sixty Star Wars Artists, Podcasters, Fans, and Community Pioneers who were sent blank Mandalorian armor sets to create custom one of a kind pieces of Art. These original works will be auctioned of as the corner stone of the annual Star Wars in Character Star Wars Toy Drive benefitting Toys for Tots. I am a big fan of Toys for Tots and couldn't pass up this grand invitation! This was the first piece that I finished. It is called, "Picnic on Dantooine". You can also see this piece in my deviantart gallery here

I will have a table for the Dallas Comic Con: Sci-Fi Expo, February 8-9th. If you are wanting a pre-Sci-Fi Expo commission, let me know and I'll get it ready for pick up at that show.

All throughout the month of Movember, I'll be continuing to grow my mustache to raise awareness of prostate cancer and I'll be taking donations for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Do you want to donate?! Head on over to my Movember page and donate!

I have posted some new shirt designs in my Cafepress store. Head over to my Cafepress store and get a shirt or a couple!

Just to let you know all know, I am taking commissions. If you would like to commission me for original artwork, head over to the commissions tab in store to see how.

If you have not heard about the Podcast called, "Talking Toys with Taylor and Jeff", then it's time I let you know! Jeff and I are on the show where we talk about toys! (Go figure, I mean Go action figure!) Seems simple enough. We pick out a toy line to discuss in each show. We share our childhood memories, our favorite five, and talk about the one toy in the line that got away. Jeff talks about how he cherished his toys and I talk about how they ended up in the garden! The other two shows are The pilot episode, where Jeff and Josh Taylor break down the Pilot Episode in TV series, and The Loosely Based Podcast where Brynna and Jeff compare the book to the movie adaptation! The shows are great! If you are interested in what we got, go to Marvindogmedia.com  and give us a listen. You can subscribe to the shows on itunes and get up to date info on upcoming shows on facebook:

Custom Toy of the Day- The Sentinel!

As I was wrapping up getting ready for this year's Vinyl Thoughts Art Show 4: Free for All, this toy was my last to finish. It, much like the "Come in Peace", toy is ancient alien inspired. I love the design in movement on this guy, but he had to be one of the hardest toys to get put together. It is made up of three Creatology vinyl toys. The toys are, this year's Halloween Frankenstein, this year's Valentine's Owl, and this year's Summer Trophy. I had problems seating the trophy onto the back of the owl. I ended up using the scythe to support the toy up and keep the trophy seat weight from buckling over. The body of the owl is covered in fake white fur. For anyone who has worked with fake fur, you probably know what I am about to say. I had fur stuck to everything in the office when I was done with this toy! Once the patches of fur were glued down and set, I spend a good amount of time brushing the excess of cut fibers out of the toy and then off of myself. I love the look of this toy next to the larger "Come in Peace" custom toy. There are not as many colors on this toy in comparison to the larger piece, but what this toy has is bright which helps match the pieces together. I am loving this run of series and I plan to continue on with this ancient alien inspired series for a while, so plan on seeing more!

I'll have more pictures after the wordage below... as always!

Custom Toy of the Day- The King has His Reign... !

Back in September, my fan, convention goer, blogger, cosplayer and friend, Reese, had her birthday. For her birthday, I made her this small custom toy, "The King has His Reign...". During that time, I had broken down to watch "Prometheus" again, having only seen it in the theater and not liking it much. I ended up loving the film after a second viewing and had the line, "A king has his reign, and then he dies." stuck in my head. This toy was inspired from that line. It is made from two Creatology DIY vinyl toys and the green fellow is plushed. It has swivel articulation in the neck of both the king and the beast. You can follow Reese's Blog here: Reese's Pieces. I'll have more pictures after the wordage below... as always!

Post Dallas Comic Con: Fan Days 2013 Fun!

I had a fantastic time at the Dallas Comic Con: Fan Days 2013 this last weekend. Everyone that stopped by to chat with Jeff and I were great and I would like to take some time out to thank all of you! I had some great commission pieces, I met Jason David Frank, aka, Tommy the Green/White Power Ranger, and got to see my convention friends. My friend and table neighbor, Drew, kept me from slacking on my commissions, as always, and I made enough to get the next Dallas Comic Con: Sci-Fi Expo table. With some of the extra money, I might try my hand at Helio Con in January. I had a blast and can't wait to do it again. Now, here's some pictures of commissions and stuff!

Thank you, Karri for this pic with Reese!
