Paintings of the day- Children at Risk 2013 donations!

I recently made and donated two paintings for the Children At Risk's first annual "Take the Mic" event in Dallas that is just one week away. The idea behind the paintings was to use the idea of a microphone as an empowerment of voice. The first piece is, "Thursday's Voice" and the second is, "Speak up, Speak out". If you are interested in seats at the event, check out more information about the event and how you can secure your spot today. Visit: http://childrenatrisk.org/event/take-the-mic/. Be sure to follow Children at Risk on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/childrenatrisk. You can see these pieces in my deviantart gallery here and here

I did buy a table for the Dallas Comic Con: Fan Days on October 4th-6th. If you are wanting a pre-Fan Days commission, let me know and I'll get it ready for pick up at that show.

I have posted some new shirt designs in my Cafepress store. Head over to my Cafepress store and get a shirt or a couple!

Just to let you know all know, I am taking commissions. If you would like to commission me for original artwork, head over to the commissions tab in store to see how.

If you have not heard about the Podcast called, "Talking Toys with Taylor and Jeff", then it's time I let you know! Jeff and I are on the show where we talk about toys! (Go figure, I mean Go action figure!) Seems simple enough. We pick out a toy line to discuss in each show. We share our childhood memories, our favorite five, and talk about the one toy in the line that got away. Jeff talks about how he cherished his toys and I talk about how they ended up in the garden! The other two shows are The pilot episode, where Jeff and Josh Taylor break down the Pilot Episode in TV series, and The Loosely Based Podcast where Brynna and Jeff compare the book to the movie adaptation! The shows are great! If you are interested in what we got, go to Marvindogmedia.com  and give us a listen. You can subscribe to the shows on itunes and get up to date info on upcoming shows on facebook:

Custom Toy Monday- Xenex the Destroyer!

Now that the Vinyl Thoughts Art Show 4 is done, I can show some of these big toys that I kept under the wraps until the big show night. This piece is called Xenex the Destroyer. If you have read my comicbook then you all ready know where this character comes from. If you have not read my indy comic then I need to let you know who this is. The white bug looking guy is Xenex the Bug Man from my independent comicbook from the same name. These comicbooks are available on indyplanet. Check out their listing on my online store page. I took some time making this piece and I think it really shows. The base is made from a Creatology egg head toy and a Creatology hippo buddy. The main body of the tentacle monster is sculpted of aluminum foil and Sculpey. If you are interested, I have this toy listed for sale on the Vinyl Thoughts Store Envy site. After all of the information I have below, I'll have more pictures from all angles posted. Look below!

I'm back for Custom Toy Monday- "Come in Peace"!

I had a blast at the Vinyl Thoughts Art Show 4: Free for All on September 12th. I got to meet a lot of custom toy artists and many toy enthusiast there. So, now that the show is done, I can post images of the toys that where featured there at the show. The first piece that I will show today is am ancient alien inspired custom toy called, "Come in Peace". This toy stands about  two feet tall. There is articulation in the eye-ball guy's arms and head, though the arms are a bit limited. It is made from two Creatology vinyl toys, one being the egg head blank action figure and the other being a fat pink bunny bank from Michael's Easter sale. I sculpted the chicken legs and rigged them into the bunny for support. The base was made to hold the legs in place to keep them posed. After all of the information I have below, I'll have more pictures from all angles posted. Look below!
