Sketch Card of the Day- Panthor!

Panthor Sketch Card by Taylor Lymbery

Today's deviation is Panthor!  Panthor, not Panthro. I had a problem with this as a kid. I don't anymore, but I got Panthor's name confused with the heroic Thundercat's name of Panthro. I remember putting Panthro (thundercat) hapharzardly on "Panthro" (masters of the universe) and making some childish name joke and laughing till I snorted and turned red from lack of air. You may be asking what the jokes were: I honestly don't remember. I would like to say that my humor has gotten better, but that would truly be a lie. So... I had a Panthor. I got Skeletor's cat the same day that I was able to get the Bounty of He-Man items at the second hand store. I liked Panthor, but not as much as I did Battle Cat. I think I was confused on why ole' Panthor did not come with a helmet, and little did I realize that the purple flocking was the incentive to get Panthor. The flocking is nice, but it hardly compares to a helmet to protect this cats noggin! Battle Cat had a helmet, Panthor should too! The day that I was digging through the toy bins getting all of the Masters of the Universe items I could get, I keep looking and looking for Panthor's helmet. Even though I had found this great bounty of castles, mountains, and cats, I was a little disappointed that I never found Panthor's helmetin all of those bins. It was a while later that I finally found out that this cat doesn't have one. When Mattel showed that they were going to release a Panthor in the Classics line with a helmet, I was very happy. I ended up getting one the day that he released. And even though the Classics Panthor does not have the traditional flocking, he has a helmet and is now Battle Cat's equal! My thanks goes to you Mattel! You can also see this sketch card here.

Just a quick update: I did go ahead and purchase a table for the Fan Days Convention in October. So I will be there (given that I don't have another mishap).

I'm opening commissions. If you are interested, go to the commissions tab for more info!

Now, you mighty be asking what this Marvin Dog media is. I've got answers. I had been working with a good friend of mine, Jeff McGee, before I got sick on designing logos and banners for a podcast that I am on and logos and banners of podcasts that other friends are on. I have listened to all of the shows so far and they are great! Jeff and I are on the show where we talk about toys! (Go figure, I mean Go action figure!) That show is called Talking toys with Taylor and Jeff. The other two shows are The pilot episode, where Jeff and Josh Taylor break down the Pilot Episode in TV series, and The Loosely Based Podcast where Husband and wife, Brynna and Jeff, compare the book to the movie adaptation! Again, the shows are great! If you are interested in what we got, go to Marvindogmedia.com  and give us a listen. You can subscribe to the shows on itunes and get up to date info on upcoming shows on facebook:
