Pin-up of the Day- Dredd!

Dredd art piece by Taylor Lymbery
Last week I decided to take a quick break and get out of the house. My best friend Matt (from Video Game Hangover) and I went to see the new Judge Dredd movie simply titled "Dredd" in 3D. It is amazing! It is very gore heavy, cruel, and has a certain edge of realism to the Mega City 1 that seems to give more of a warning of where our society could go in the future. Having been a big Judge Dredd (and most of the 2000 AD works) fan for years now, I wasn't sure if I would like the movie much. But it delivers on many fan levels. I have got to say that if you see it, you have to see it in 3D! The scenes where there is Slow-Mo involved are spectacular in 3D! Oh, and for all of the Dredd fans, Joe Dredd never takes off his helmet! He does put one on in the beginning, and his face is in shadow! It's a shame Stallone couldn't get that one right! I was also happy with the uniforms considering that the new design is a bit of a departure from the comic books. The new designs manage to incorporate the elements of the old costume and mold it into functional tactical armor. The design even manages to add a little bit green to the belt, gloves, pads, and boots, though it is hard to tell due to the dark tone of the green. My only complaint would be that I felt the green should have been a bit brighter. You can also see this art piece here.

BIG ALERT!!!

My Star Trek Tees are ready to be voted for! You'll have to create an account for welovefine or sign in to your account to vote but never mind that; go vote! I'll leave links for the shirts below their respective picture.

Cortical Stimulator design by Taylor Lymbery

I could almost make a drinking game on how many times the mighty cortical stimulator has saved someone's life! Go see this design on welovefine.com here!

Oh, Chakotay! design by Taylor Lymbery
No one can melt Captain Janeway's heart away like this Maquis hunk, leaving Katherine only saying, "Oh, Chakotay!" Go see this design on welovefine.com here!

Child's Play design by Taylor Lymbery
It seems silly, but every kid that liked star trek that I knew, wanted an Enterprise to ride around on. It would've been awesome. Go see this design on welovefine.com here!

Space Anomaly design by Taylor Lymbery
There was one episode in the Voyager series where Neelix asked why Voyager had to go and inspect every anomaly it came across. Shortly after, the ship was trapped in a sub-space hole in a nebula; and then after that, about to be devoured by a living ion cloud monster; and then after that... You get the picture. Go see this design on welovefine.com here!

Tricorder Theatre
I've read that the scene in Generations where Data is using his tricorder as a puppet, is thought to be one of the worst jokes in the Star Trek universe. When I saw this scene in the theater, I laughed so hard I had soda shoot through my nostrils! Needless to say, I still find it kind of funny. Don't judge... Go see this design on welovefine.com here!

Just a quick update: I did go ahead and purchase a table for the Fan Days Convention in October. I'll be there with a ton of new work to sell, a new issue of Xenex the Bug Man and new posters. So I'll see you there!

There's been an update to the store tabs on both Xenex the Bug Man, and this site. All of the print on demand issues, cafepress stores and commissions info will be under the new store tab on both this site and the Xenex the Bug Man site. Hopefully this page makes shopping a bit easier. Go and check it out!

I just updated the Xenex the Bug Man website with rather grand news that the long awaited issue 4 is now up for order. It's a great looking comic book! Head on over to the Bug Man site and see what I'm talking about!

Now, you mighty be asking what this Marvin Dog media is. I've got answers. I had been working with a good friend of mine, Jeff McGee, before I got sick on designing logos and banners for a podcast that I am on and logos and banners of podcasts that other friends are on. I have listened to all of the shows so far and they are great! Jeff and I are on the show where we talk about toys! (Go figure, I mean Go action figure!) That show is called Talking toys with Taylor and Jeff. The other two shows are The pilot episode, where Jeff and Josh Taylor break down the Pilot Episode in TV series, and The Loosely Based Podcast where Brynna and Jeff compare the book to the movie adaptation! Again, the shows are great! If you are interested in what we got, go to Marvindogmedia.com  and give us a listen. You can subscribe to the shows on itunes and get up to date info on upcoming shows on facebook:
Talking Toys with Taylor and Jeff on facebook
The Loosely Based Podcast on facebook

Give us a like! And, if you like what we have, be sure to tell your friends! We need your word of mouth to help us keep making shows!
