Painting of the Day- Dragon Camp!

Dragons, wizards and fantasy, oh my! What's not to love about a little sword and sorcery? When I started this piece, I wasn't entirely sure that all I wanted to have in the painting would work and fit. Overall I think my mission was accomplished. If you see some similarities to a specific character from pop culture then you are correct. I used a little reference from Orko of the Masters of the Universe for some of the look of my magician. Its mainly the hat that has that Orko vide. Everything else is truly from my head. I'm very happy with the design of the sorcerer. I have always wanted to see a wizard with armor on and this is my first attempt. I have a feeling that I will have to revisit the armored up sorcerer again on day. To give him a bit of magical reference, I used the star of protection on his back and wagon. The crescent moon handles the rest of the magical look tying the staff of the wizard, to his cloak, to his hut wagon in design. I chose the Orko orange hat color to relate him to the dragons and the red as a close relation to his hut and camp. I think the colors really stand out on this piece and I love the wide variety of hues. I will offer this piece, not only for sale but also for print at the upcoming Dallas Comic Con in May 2014. This piece is an acrylic painting on a 11" X 17" piece of poster cardstock. You can see this piece in my deviantart gallery as well here

I have the table purchased for the Dallas Comic Con in May. If you want pre-show pieces for that show, let me know.

If you have not heard about the Podcast called, "Talking Toys with Taylor and Jeff", then it's time I let you know! Jeff and I are on the show where we talk about toys! (Go figure, I mean Go action figure!) Seems simple enough. We pick out a toy line to discuss in each show. We share our childhood memories, our favorite five, and talk about the one toy in the line that got away. Jeff talks about how he cherished his toys and I talk about how they ended up in the garden! The other two shows are The pilot episode, where Jeff and Josh Taylor break down the Pilot Episode in TV series, and The Loosely Based Podcast where Brynna and Jeff compare the book to the movie adaptation! The shows are great! If you are interested in what we got, go to Marvindogmedia.com  and give us a listen. You can subscribe to the shows on itunes and get up to date info on upcoming shows on facebook:

If you like what we have, be sure to tell your friends! We need your word of mouth to help us keep making shows!
